Therapy for teens ages 13 to 17
Who it helps
Teens whose parents live apart and who would rather talk with someone who is neither parent.
What sessions look like
Fifty minutes of talking, usually in a chair. If sitting is hard for your teen, a session can be a walk around the block. Your teen sets the topic.
The method
Straight talk, with a few tools for the hard moments that come when a teen moves between two homes. There is no script and no worksheet unless your teen asks for one.
What this is not
It is not a place where Raymond reports back to a parent. The consent page says what he has to share and when; everything else stays between him and your teen.
How long, how often
Raymond sets the pace with your teen and reviews it with both parents. He does not promise a number of sessions.
One parent holds the account, and the fee is given in writing before you start.
Three questions
Does my teen have to want to come?
It helps, and Raymond will not pretend otherwise. If your teen is unsure, the first session is a chance to find out who he is and what he will not do, which is report back to you.
Will you tell me what my teen says?
No. You get the same general update both parents get. Raymond tells you right away if your teen or someone else is at risk.
Can my teen come on their own?
A parent or guardian signs for a minor first. After that, your teen can come into the room alone.
Ready to start with a call?
Each parent has a 20-minute call first. Your teen decides what happens after that.
